Mario Werner
Digital Hardware Design Engineer

About Me

I am currently a hardware design engineer at NXP Semiconductors where I work on the hardening and implementation of security IPs. Before that, I worked as security researcher in Stefan Mangard's Secure Systems (SESYS) group of the IAIK at Graz University of Technology. During my time in academia, I researched modifications and extensions of processor that enable the construction of general-purpose computing architectures with strong security capabilities. In particular, my research focused on the development of countermeasures against physical attacks (i.e., faults and side-channels) and, when possible, on easing the adoption of the developed techniques by providing compiler support (e.g., LLVM integration).
